The Great Escape

Have you ever read a book that was so wonderful that you just wanted to be left alone for hours on end? Once I read a book and almost stopped talking to people for four days because I didn't want to put it down. If you have ever experienced this, please share.

  1. Last summer, I took a book and went out to my front porch to read, planning on just reading for a little while in the cool of the morning. 2:30 that afternoon, my husband came out and reminded me I had an appointment at 2:45! I was totally sucked into the book and completely lost track of time--I ended up rescheduling the appointment! (Which gave me another hour with the book! Hehehehe!) The book was Graceling by Kristin Cashore. Check out a book trailer for Graceling at this link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/mpd/permalink/m34WM2E3L2INP4

  4. Last Year i went camping and i sat alone in the desert outside of the camper and read for 3 hours!!! My parents were wondering when i'd pry myself away from the book and do something. The book was one of the Harry Potter series and I think it was the third time i was reading the series!!! its the best series i've ever read and at this point i've just finished reading it for the 7th time and it still leaves me wanting to cry that it's over!! This series is a must read!!!!

Are You a Dreamer?

Dreams by Langston Hughes

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.
